I am the first grade interventionist at HES. I feel very blessed to be able to do this job and work with such wonderful students each day. My goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students. Each student is different, but I strive everyday to help them take steps toward their own personal academic goals and success.
I am originally from Arab, Alabama. I obtained my bachelor's degree in communications from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Go Blazers! Later, I went back and received a fifth year master's degree in elementary education from Alabama A&M University in 2008. I have 4 years total of teaching experience. My classroom experience is in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade (one year in each). I also taught technology for a year.
I do not have any children of my own but do have a mischievous cat named Sue Ellen. I am also Auntie Heather to my friends' precious children who range in age from 5 years to 4 months. I love to spend every spare minute with them. Outside of school I love going to church, reading, and attending concerts. Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's life.
